Bilbao airport faces Easter with “very positive” prospects, improving on the figures for 2020 and last year’s, although they are still not as good as those for 2019. Loiu foresees a total of 741 operations during this festive period, from Wednesday 13 to Monday 28 April. Specifically, on Wednesday 13th, a total of 123 flights are scheduled, the same as on Thursday 14th. The following day, Friday 15th, 125 flights are scheduled, while on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th, 104 and 118 flights will take place, respectively. On Easter Monday, this will rise to 148.

Among the new destinations to be served by the Bilbao aerodrome are Hamburg (Eurowings), Istanbul (Turkish Airlines), which has returned after two years, and in summer the route to Bucharest will be inaugurated with Blue Air and the one that will link the Biscayan capital with Athens through Volotea and Aegean.

“The movement of people in the domestic market will be very important and is what will stand out most. International movement is also expected, taking advantage of the connections we already have in operation in this market, although in the international context it is not known how aspects such as the war in Ukraine, the price of fuel, etc. may finally influence the final decision of the passengers, of the tourists”, point out sources from the Bilbao Airport Routes Committee.
