The Bilbao Airport Route Development Committee will meet with more than 40 airports and airlines at Routes Europe

The first major post-pandemic face-to-face meeting of European airline agents, Routes Europe, kicks off on 18 May. For 3 days, the Norwegian city of Bergen will be the setting for this event, which airlines, airports and other professionals from the sector are attending with the desire to continue working on the recovery of the industry. The Bilbao Airport Route Development Committee will have its own stand at the forum, and will meet with more than 40 national and international airports and airlines. A busy agenda with which the committee members will seek to “update perspectives” and continue the development of the territory’s connectivity.
Although the 2022 summer season is presented with high expectations for the Biscayan aerodrome, surpassing the record number of connections in 2019, the Route Development Committee of Bilbao Airport comes to Bergen with its sights set on the medium and long term. The main objective is to set the offer on track for the winter and summer months of 2022 and 2023, respectively, re-establishing the international routes that have been lost due to COVID-19 and incorporating new destinations.
