Bilbao Bizkaia Action Group has launched a campaign that uses different supports in which products such as txakoli, carolina or anchovies are presented in strategic places in the arrival and departure areas. The campaign is part of the actions developed by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia together with the sector through the Bilbao Bizkaia Action Group to encourage tourists to make purchases during their visit and which also include trips by agencies and tour operators and influencers focused on shopping, the inclusion of this issue in the destination’s digital marketing campaigns and the holding of a working meeting with agents from the commercial sector to involve tractor companies in the BBAG project and improve the product.

Bilbao Bizkaia has launched today a campaign at Loiu airport to promote the purchase of local products among visitors to the territory, placing on different supports creativities in which these products are shown in a suggestive way (txakoli, txapela, carolina, cesta punta, anchovy, crafts with traditional motifs…) along with a QR code through which you can download all the information about them and the establishments where they can be purchased. This initiative is part of the actions that Bilbao Bizkaia Action Group (BBAG) has been developing to encourage travellers to make purchases during their visit.

As part of the campaign launched today, muppis have been placed in paper and digital format and videos are being broadcast in strategic places in the airport, such as the baggage reclaim halls and the cafeteria, and the taxi access doors and exit doors of the terminal have been covered with vinyl. These materials have been placed both in the arrivals and departures areas.

In this way, BBAG complements the project that has already been developed and published in a specific publication on ‘one-stop shopping’, thus giving it visibility among those arriving in the territory by plane.
