“We expect to achieve more than seven million passengers this year”

Month after month, the statistics provided by Aena only confirm the unstoppable progress of Bilbao Airport. A constant and sustained growth that invites optimism. If a historic milestone was already reached last year, in 2024 it could break the barrier of seven million passengers.

This is the opinion of Inés Zalbide, corporate director of Bilbao Air, who in an interview granted to Enpresabidea defends that the main objective of the entity is “to position Bilbao Airport as a first class regional airport”. Something of enormous importance in order to “contribute to economic and social growth”. To achieve this, “unity of action between the institutions” is absolutely essential.

Looking to the future, Zalbide hopes “to be able to fly to all the necessary points to continue advancing in our strategy”. He also points to “the expansion of the airport” as a turning point.
