Bilbao Airport breaks all its records in July

It goes on and on for Bilbao Airport, which continues to break its own historical records. After the great figures achieved in June, last July was, according to figures released on Monday by Aena, the best ever for the Biscayan infrastructure. In the seventh month of the year, a total of 685,860 passengers passed through the La Paloma facilities.

It thus surpasses the previous best passenger figure, achieved just a year ago, in July 2023. At that time, only 3 people fell short of the 680,000 mark. The increase is 0.9% compared to that month, but the jump is 13.7% over July 2019.

The good data is mainly due to the 4% increase in international passengers, which reached 307,244 commercial passengers. On the other hand, domestic passengers have suffered a small decrease of 1.5%, with 377,811 passengers.

The important operations carried out last month by the airlines largely explains why July was the best month in the history of Bilbao Airport. Last month 5,159 landing and take-off movements were operated, 0.5% more than in July 2023.

Accumulated in 2024

Operations in the first seven months of the year have reached 30,007 aircraft movements, 3.4% more than in the same period last year. Meanwhile, passenger traffic has registered 3,845,776 passengers, 9.7% more than from January to July 2023.
